Dear cisgender people. Are you going to let them eliminate us?

What should we do, cisgender friends?

I am part of a tiny group of people. No MPs. No Members of the House of Lords. No Judges. No Newspaper Editors. No CEOs. No Senior Civil Servants. No Senior TV Executives. No Heads of Banks.

Read the article. Sheila Jeffreys has plenty of form, over decades. She has dedicated her entire adult life to erasing people like me completely. Her stance is very simple. I am a dangerous, male sexual predator.

She and a few like her are becoming more and more influential. In a wider setting, like Trump (who was once a joke) did. Like Bannon or Miller, or Farage did. These people were once seen as fringe figures. But they cracked it. They worked out how to draw hate towards them like iron filings towards a magnet. How to use it. They took over the minds of an increasing number of people, as a parasite does, eating the organism from the inside.

In fact, maybe ten years ago Jeffreys, and her attitudes, were seen as beyond the fringe.

Five years ago they were still seen as extreme. To agree with them, as the increasingly confident TERF movement often did, meant to keep it to yourself. Too out there for most people.

Even three years ago this kind of stance was often seen as too difficult to promote publicly.

Now it is being fully mainstreamed into its client movement, which is growing. All over Britain, today, groups are preparing or actively litigating, legal challenges to remove trans people's human rights. Right now. It's not even Jeffreys and her WHRC group. It's the organisations that are signed up to support her position. The ones given credibility by Liz Truss in GRA consultations. The ones given standing by a Court in a recent beachhead case to remove help for trans young people by the NHS at The Tavistock clinic. Some of these people have even started threatening to sue you if you even call them 'transphobic'.

Dear cisgender people, what should I do?

What should we do? I know very well what they want me to do.

We told you that this is how it starts, how it always starts, but nothing changed. Still, they come for us.

You know where this ends. But, for the most part, you really don’t care. In as much as you pay any attention at all, you don't 'get it', or us...so you are prey to lies that are carefully constructed and propagated to make sense to you. The lies give you answers. That they are entirely, lethally wrong doesn't really matter, does it? You don't even need to resort to social media to find the lies. A whole lot of British newspapers are sympathetic to them as well and regularly pump them out.

Mainstreaming hate to 'radicalize the centre' is a standard play for groups like this, of many kinds. The language - of fear and threat - is always the same. The strategy starts with Reasonable Concerns and it ends in a camp.

You are dealing with Covid, and all the fear and anxiety and anger and despair, as people drop like flies and their relatives are broken by grief. Heartbreaking doesn't get close. Perhaps even worse, some are losing their minds in misinformation and hate, attacking health workers, invading hospitals.

We are living in that world too. Seeing it, feeling it, experiencing it too. But also this. Every day.

What should we do?

The Gender Recognition Act - a core piece of legislation that allows me to even legally EXIST - is the target for these people. We know it. They know it. Every day, its repeal moves closer.

Because you are letting it. And with it, comes the literal end of us.

What should we do?
